Because of her achievements, and being the first and so far only African American female vocalist to perform original self published music for the Detroit Pistons, her historical milestone was honored and awarded by given an exhibit in the prestigious Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit, Michigan. The Lay'na Michelle Exhibit was on display from April 12th to April 30th.

On Aug. 22nd of 2019, the great Lay'na Michelle was blessed with the Spirit of Detroit Award from the Detroit City Council and Mayor Mike Duggan.
