[MUSIC NEWS] Is YoungBoy NBA Retiring?

Rumors have been spreading that rapper, YoungBoy NBA, is retiring. The 22-year-old has

already broken more records than many artists in their late 20’s and 30’s.

You can't speak about YoungBoy, who’s reason name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, without

mentioning the fact, he has held the #1 rank on YouTube for views among artists quite a few

times. He has more likes than Drake, The Weeknd, Post Malone and more.

He has revealed in an interview with Tidal that YouTube is where he feels most comfortable

when releasing his music because of the easy access. "YouTube [is] the only platform that I

can just run to and drop and let you get whatever it is, ASAP," he said, "You ain't got that

access with no other platform."

A conversation was posted on Twitter between Akademiks and YoungBoy reportedly showing YoungBoy wasn't "feeling this rap s**t no mo" and that he's retiring after putting out his next album. This disappointed many of his fans and the post had gone viral. Fans were taken aback especially as the rapper continues to dominate the streaming world.

YoungBoy went live on his YouTube channel with 11.5 million subscribers and addressed the

rumor that he was thinking about retiring from music: "Don't do fake promo on me I never said that. After August I'm dropping again."

He also shared a message to his fans revealing that he is still in the studio coming up with new music after “The Last Slimeto.”
