Tupac Amaru Shakur was a well-known figure when it comes to West Coast Hip-hop and will honor his legacy with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Shakur star will be the Hollywood Walk of Fame's 2,758th.
Shakur was selected in 2013 for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, his family has never set a date for the ceremony, according to Walk of Fame.


Born in Harlem, New York City, he spent his developmental years in California and lived in Baltimore.
The late rapper's career started in Oakland when he was a background dancer for the Hip-hop group Digital Underground.
Shakur recorded legendary albums in California, among being the best-selling musical artists of all time , having sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
All Eyes on Me and Me Against the World studio albums topping the chart on the Billboard 200.
Shakur's mother released six posthumous studio albums through Amaru Entertainment and Interscope Records.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce shared with the L.A Times, Tupac will get his star on June 7, 2023, a few weeks before his 52nd birthday.
“Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary,” says Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Shakur has continued to be an iconic figure for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come. Surely, as one of L.A.’s own, Shakur star will be added to the list of most visited stars.”

The Walk of Fame star unveiling will be hosted by L.A. radio host Big Boy and guest speakers.
Hulu Documentary series Dear Mama director Allen Hughes, writer Jamal Joseph, and his sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur will accept the star.
Earlier this month, the Oakland city council renamed a section of MacArthur Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Van Buren Avenue as “Tupac Shakur Way”. Tupac lived on MacArthur Boulevard by Lake Merritt. The decision was made by councilmember Carrol Fifie, according to “The Oaklandside”.
