Cameron Jibril Thomaz known as Wiz Khalifa has sold a portion of his music catalog to Harbourview equity partner for an undisclosed amount.
The agreement covers mixtapes, multiple albums, and singles from his astonishing music career.
The Pittsburgh rapper shared his thoughts on the founder of HarbourView.
“Sherrese Clarke Soares and HarbourView truly understand the value of music and artistry. “We are excited to partner with them as they continue to build a dynamic media company that is in line with the values and goals, we all have here at Taylor Gang”, Khalifa stated in a press conference.
HarbourView Equity Partners is a global investment firm focused on investment opportunities in the entertainment and media space. Soares founded the firm in 2021, an investment banker with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment and media industry.
Soares made a statement, discussing the importance of Khalifa in the music industry. “We celebrate his talent and creativity and are thrilled to welcome him and Taylor Gang to the HarbourView family today”.
Taylor Gang Entertainment is a record label founded by rapper Wiz Khalifa in 2008.
The deal includes his songs such as “Black and Yellow” and “See You Again”.
Both songs are the only songs of Khalifa to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Black and Yellow earned Khalifa his first Grammy nominations, for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
See You Again features Charlie Puth and was nominated for three Grammy awards.
The 48-year-old rapper, Nelly, and the Grammy-nominated rapper Logic sold portions of their entire music catalog for millions.
HarbourView has acquired selected recorded music assets of Grammy Award-winning rapper, Nelly.
According to TMZ, Nelly secured $50 million for 50% ownership of his entire catalog.
This includes eight albums, including his top charted songs such as “Hot in Here” and “Dilemma”, among others. Both songs won Grammy Awards.
